An unscheduled return to Shadowlands
Dear All,
Well, all being well I will be making a brief trip to Japan next week, and able to stop by Shadowlands for a few days. A job interview means that I have to return to Japan for a week or so, and I will take the opportunity to check on Shadowlands. It will be the first time for me to see it in the height of the steamy rainy season, and my gardening will simply involve taking as many photos of as many trees and plants as I can and trying to identify and mark them, so that when we make the return proper in April, I will have a lot to work with. I’m interested to see how the gooseberries, rhubarb, and roses, and apples are fairing as they are the main things I managed to get in before we left for the UK. I’m also curious to see how the boundary trees react to gettting much more light that they have had for decades (you will remember we had a few diseased and encroaching Sawara Cypress removed). Expect a whole album of photos in about a weeks’ time.
Best wishes,
