SEATTLE — Mattress retailer Sleep Country USA has acquired 14 Mattress Outlet stores in eastern Washington and western Idaho and will convert them to Sleep Country locations by the end of the year.
The acquisition will boost Sleep Country USA’s store count to 84, and the retailer said it will soon open additional stores in Lacey and Tumwater, Wash.
“We are continually looking for strategic growth opportunities that allow us to reach new communities,” said Dale Carlsen, CEO of Sleep Country USA. “

Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) is one of those beautiful plants for fall color that unfortunately gets mixed up with one of similar appearance but of very ill repute: poison ivy (Rhus radicans). The difference has traditionally been summed up in the phrase “Leaves of three let it be, leaves of five let it thrive!” Physically speaking, that’s the difference between Virginia creeper and poison ivy, Virginia has five leaves where poison ivy has three. Whose ready to get back into a regualr schedule? ME!! While I am not going to shut-up any time soon about Leaf Magazine – I am going to take a little break to try and get back to some regularlity. First up a Tursday before and after — right here, right now, on Friday — a day late — but whose on time, right?

I really like this Hudson Valley farmhouse from Sisse Jonassen of SJ Interior Design.
I need a weekend house…some place to get away during the fall and winter…to cozy up and do weekend things. Instead, I am stuck in my tiny tiny tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills this weekend dealing with plumbing problems and sliding hillside issues…oy va voy…oh did I mention the fence that is in desperate need of repair?
I need a weekend getaway place…a place with no errands, no to do lists, just me, friends, several magazines and a good book (yes I said a book), with the only thing on the list is planning fun lunches and dinners with friends/family…oh my dog Mr. Read full post…
